Step-by-step instructions

Connect your PocketPC or SmartPhote to the desktop computer using USB port.

Click the Explore button in Microsoft ActiveSync window.

Find the CheckList directory.
(Default setup installed it at "Program Files\Pyva.net\CheckList")

Copy index.txt to the local drive.
this is the main configuration file, which defines the structure of your collection and the paths for all checklist files.

Edit the local copy of index.txt with any text editor (such as notepad.exe)

Copy the saved index.txt back to your PocketPC or SmartPhone.

Run CheckList on your PDA to make sure the new changes are correct. (You must EXIT, not just minimize the program window before the changes take effect)

Format of index.txt file:

# this is a comment, it will be ignored

Lines starting with "#" are ignored.

Each section can be associated with a checklist file or have subsections.

Section, not associated with file and naving no subsections will be grayed.

The number of levels for subsections is unlimited.

Different sections can be associated with the same file.

File path can be absolute (starting with "\"), or relative to CheckList home directory.

If you use both PocketPC and SmartPhone, it may be a good idea to keep your checklist files on memory card, that can be used on both devices.
